DAY 8 WORK EXPERTS - PRAY FOR YOUR HUSBAND CHALLENGE

DECLARATION TO THE LABORING MAN

1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Today your husband may not be in the field of his expertise or may be he is unemployed. Perhaps you may be ashamed of what he does for a living, you may be uncomfortable with the job or place where he works or based on his position you may even be concerned for his well being and safety.  Well now is the time to pray.

TODAY'S PRAYER - (Revive Your Heart by Nancy Leigh DeMoss)
Pray that your husband will work hard to provide for your family, to the best of his ability. Pray that the character qualities necessary for a successful career and ministry will be a growing part of his character—persistence, decisiveness, strength, an analytical mind, organizational skills, positive relationships with people, determination, etc. (Rom. 12:11; 1 Cor. 15:58)

Stop whatever you are doing now and begin to appreciate your husband as your provider- Start praising and thanking God for his ability to provide and even in a tough economy he has a job!  You should be thankful and praise God even if your husband is unemployed. Begin to call the things that are not as though they are. Thank God for the finances that are in place and the perfect job suitable and right for his skills and preference.

Use today's challenge to talk to the Lord about your concerns. Pray that your husband will be healthy, strong and focused to handle his duties and responsibilities of his job.  Pray the prayer above praying specifically calling out the areas that he needs strength.

If your husband is in ministry, pray that God will grant him the gifts and skill sets to meet the requirements/demands that comes with his assignment to perform excellently, and that he will rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit.

If your husband is self/employed or even unemployed pray the prayer of Jabez that God will enlarge his territory and boarders. Pray that God will give them good clients/customers and that doors of opportunities will be open up for them.  Pray that they don't have to compromise or lower their standards

If your husband is retired pray that God will give him fresh vision, joy in this season of his life and the ability to mentor or pass on his skills and knowledge to the younger ones. Pray that he will release himself mentally, and that he will have no regrets of the things he did not accomplish but think of the lives he has touched, blessed and or changed.

TODAY'S FOCUS:  FERVENT ENTHUSIASM

How is your husband doing in relations to the following:
Romans 12:11 (KJV)
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
  • Is you husband exited about his work, business or ministry?
  • Is he laid back, lackadaisical or a procrastinator?
  • Does he refuse to work or just can't hold a job down?
  • Doe he have no drive and or ambition?
Pray against distractions, bad advice and procrastination that prevents him from accomplishing his goals or pursuing the education and training necessary for him to excel and or promoted. Pray against any attack of the enemy as a result of jealousy and envy or ancestral curses.

Pray that your husbands will be respected in their various roles/professions especially in the line of ministry. Pray that they will be faithful stewards, accountable and make provisions for difficult times, the future of their family and old age.  Pray for continual success and that their employment will not be affected by the economy, layoffs or terrorism.  Pray for abundance and the overflow so they can be a blessing to others.

How about the way you view him?
  • Are you guilty of criticizing or praising your husband about his job? (verbally, to others or even in your thoughts....)
  • Are you proud of who he is in terms of his career and position?
  • What do you think of when you think of his job?
  • Are you supportive of him and express your appreciation on a regular basis?
ACTIVITY:
Today - Take time to thank you husband and let him know that you appreciate him and his ability (even if he is not working) to provide and contribute financially to the household.  Do something special today- visit him at work, drop him off or pick him up from work, have a lunch date or buy him lunch, buy a small gift that he can use at work (a pen, tie, small tool etc..)  Well if you can afford, do whatever! If he is unemployed help him apply for work, prepare a resume or encourage him to take a trade or class etc... Don't just complain - Do something and pray today's prayer.

A little encouragement goes a long way.  Your husband will appreciate your effort in whatever small way you can.  Especially if he is not getting appreciated at work knowing that he has a wife who is proud of him will help lift his spirits and enable him to face the challenges of a stressful job.  It will give him a reason to look forward to coming home.

Remember,to be consistent with your praise and appreciation.  Pray that your husband will be steadfast, and be a man of integrity.  Pray also that he will use wisdom and be selective in the jobs and position he accepts so that it will not jeopardize his family or his spiritual convictions.  With your support and prayers you will have an enthusiastic expert who serves with joy.

Make it a thank God for my husband job/skills/ability to do...... day!All for a better relationship and an exciting life!
Please share your success stories/challenges and or leave your comments.
