MATURITY AND FAVOR
Maturity brings favor with
God and man
Jesus shows the example in
Luke 2:52 (KJV)
And
Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Don't
you wish your husband would stop acting his shoe size and act his age?
- He still plays
with the toys he had before you were married
- Prefers to go
to work than spend family time
- Refuses to
make time to go to church with you but finds the time to hang out long
hours with the boys or others
- He sees no
need to change his bad habits even if it's affecting the relationship
- Opinionated
and refuses to heed to sound advice
- He's all work
and no play
- He's all
church and no fun
- All play and
no work
- Won't take a
vacation, sick or day off even if he is sick
If this describes your husband pray fervently.....
TODAY'S PRAYER - (Revive Your
Heart by Nancy Leigh DeMoss)
Pray that your husband will
have a balanced life—that he will balance work and play. Pray that he will fear
God, but also gain favor with people he knows at work and church. (Luke 2:52;
Prov. 13:15)
Perhaps your husband is not
balanced, display laziness, negative attitude and behaviors, and a lack of
interest in things of importance. Some of these result in him being
overlooked for a promotion or position at work, and not well spoken of at
church, in the community and among his family and friends. You must pray
to help him find a balance.
TODAY'S FOCUS: FAVOR COMES TO THE FAITHFUL
Proverbs
13:15 (KJV)
Good
understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
Favor
comes to the man who uses good sense and is sensible. A transgressor
stops the release of his favor with God and with man. Therefore, it is
important for one to seek wisdom and understanding. Don't let your husband
loose out on God's favor - It can benefit or affect you. So let's do the
following activity:
ACTIVITY
If
you long to see your husband have a more balanced life you may have to take the
initiative.
Most
men won't take vacation or even take a day off from work.
How
about planning a get away?
Using
your wits and wisdom of the Proverbs 31 woman that you are plan a vacation for
him. It could be a one day, a weekend, a week or perhaps an afternoon off.
Book a hotel, a cruise or whatever you can afford (since I have you on a
budget)- A simple picnic in the park or on the beach would do, give him a break
from preaching or teaching let him sit back and relax, allow him to go to his
place of retreat (fishing etc...)- no family gatherings or stressful activity.
If he
is the all play guy- gently introduce a chore schedule which includes you and
the children with his assignments and make it a family affair. Keep praying
sisters and as Jesus, he will mature in both body and spirit and obtain favor
with God and with all people.
As you
perform this activity look out for him to stop working these long hours and
have time for the children and you to do some fun things together- Be ready to
spend time in his company
Remember, Jesus
matured, growing up in both body and spirit, blessed by both God and people. A
balance life and wisdom will increase favor. Balancing work and play will help
lessen stress and bring harmony to the body and relationship. Let Jesus example
you measure up - knowledge to age. Mature and Grow UP!

Great sound advice. Although I have a well balance spouse which loves family time over anything else. I know some women might be struggling with getting him to slow down. For example this father's day around 11:00 pm after getting home from church, my husband was so excited it was his special day. He actually played basketball with the boys for about an hour. I shouted" Honey, don't you have work tomorrow" he answered yes. I smiled and said honey you're happy crazy. We enjoyed the moment. We video taped the moment. It was so much fun. I've learned that you only live once so enjoy the moment and have a balance life.
