DAY 28 PRAYER TIME - 30 DAY PRAYING FOR YOUR HUSBAND CHALLENGE

FERVENT PRAYERS

Prayer is the way you communicate with God.  It is the channel through which your request, needs and desires are transmitted for you, your family and others.  Pray often, pray to guard you from trouble and temptation and pray for others so God can heal you.

James 5:16 (KJV)
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

How do you feel about confessing your faults to someone?
How can Healing come from doing that?
What can it avail?

TODAY'S PRAYER - (Revive Your Heart by Nancy Leigh DeMoss)

Pray that your husband will be a man of prayer. Pray that he will seek and pursue God in purposeful quiet times. (1 Thess. 5:17; Luke 22:46; James 5:16)

Pray that prayer for victory if he turns on the TV, plays games or goes on Facebook/internet before he prays, does not pray for and or with you and the children, uses vain repetitions, perform routine prayers, does not think he should pray over his food, feels prayer should be reserved for church and private times only, he rushes and does not know how to lie still and or have quiet moments in prayer.

TODAY'S FOCUS: QUIET TIME

Your husband may be challenged with time due to his busy schedule. He also struggles with praying for situations and may resort to silence. He may prefer to discuss and or complain to others instead of praying.
Fear and guilt may be the cause of his resistance.

Quiet times are just as important as praying. In prayer you do the talking, but quiet times give you the opportunity for God to speak into your heart and spirit. Quiet times should follow after praying or just stealing away whenever you can to sit in God's presence and escape.  What other benefits do you believe it brings?

Are you leading by example or are your complaining that he doesn't?
Do you spend quality and quiet time with God?
Have you set up your quiet space suggested in our previous post?
Are you encouraging others to a life of prayer?
What are you doing to assist him?

ACTIVITY
Allow your husband to have a place that he can go to retreat without interference or noise for spiritual connection.
Set up a secret place or prayer altar - make it spiritual but relaxing. Include meditation/soft praise/worship music, soft lights/candles, fountain, devotional and other books, plaques, plants etc..
Keep the children and avoid distractions (phone, TV etc..)
Encourage your husband to bless you and the children.

Make time for prayer with your husband and the family daily. Let him take the role in leading or reading a devotion or scripture with you. It may be difficult or challenging if he is not saved, a praying person or one who likes to pray out loud. However, suggest a prayer time that suits his schedule or style. It does not have to be a long session to discourage him, but a moment done daily will become a lifestyle.

Remember, do not throw your righteousness around but use your fervent prayer to avail great results. Be constant in prayer, do not interrupt or criticize his praying skills, but become a woman of habit- rise early and pray demonstrating humility and kindness. Pray so you can be guarded from temptation. Know that effective prayer also include praying for others. Be faithful in prayer!
