DAY 17 PRAY ON - 30 DAY PRAYING FOR YOUR HUSBAND CHALLENGE

PRAYER BEGINS WITH PRAISE

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:4-5 KJV
As you take on today's prayer challenge, begin with giving God praise that you have a husband.  There are so many sisters out there longing and praying to God for a husband.  They are probably watching for you to let yours go so they can grab a hold of him!  Husbands are hot cakes, (not that you are not hot and tasty ravishing titi bread), and don't stay on the shelf for too long.

Hopefully you are not struggling with a man who no longer wants to be a real man, (homosexual etc..This would be a different topic and a matter of pray and fasting), but if you are challenged with a man who is a softy, don't want to get his hands dirty, always tired, not sick or disabled in any way form or fashion, but don't want to throw the trash, you have to call someone for everything that you need to have done cause he is a sweet boy or do it yourself, he has the we'll have to do this syndrome but we'll usually mean you, moody, has more time of the month than you, extremely emotional and anxious, afraid to take risks even good ones, depends on you to make decisions because he is challenged mentally or ADD, very anti-social, does not show any spiritual growth, development and strength or perhaps don't even go to church and has no intention of going in this lifetime. If you just have been praying, Lord, I need a "REAL MAN" - Change Your Prayer!

TODAY'S PRAYER
Pray that your husband will enjoy his manliness as he patterns his life after Christ and strong men in the faith. Pray for his physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual strength. (Eph. 3:16; 1 Peter 2:21; 1 Cor. 10:11)

If this prayer challenges and convicts you that you have not been supportive to empower and encourage your husband in any area of weakness- it's time to make amends.  First acknowledge that you have not done your best, repent if you have been critical, condemning or judgmental.  Ask the Lord to forgive you, if need be ask your husband to forgive you and make a commitment to do better from now on.  Here are some areas you may want to take a look at:

  • You have criticized his manliness and sexual performance to him or to others.
  • Compared him with others (spiritually, academically, socially etc..)
  • Labeled him or exposed his emotional or mental ability
  • Complain about his ability to provide or lack of in a negative manner
  • Condemn him because of his lack of spiritual interest
  •  Other....
Pray on - God is looking for you to be that help meet you vowed to be

TODAY'S FOCUS:  A TRUE PATTERN

Pattern your life after Christ because you are called to follow his steps so you can be a godly and goodly example.
1 Peter 2:21 (KJV)
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Christ is the true pattern of godliness and manliness as he has asked the husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the church.  Christ suffered for you and left an example- so men must do all they can do follow the true pattern.   Unfortunately in many cases this is not so for they are challenged and badly influenced.  Thankfully, there is a wife- his help meet who can do something to bring about change. Through prayer and this 30 day prayer challenge activities, you can win the victory.  Let's do something about this area today:

ACTIVITY
Your husband may need your help in getting back his vitality, spirituality and strength.  Help him without criticizing, condemning or challenging him.  Since there are several components to today's prayers let's do a couple of things:

  1. Before the end of the day do something nourishing or nutritious - like a natural drink or food source
  2. Boost up his image and complement him in an area you know he is challenged- make it genuine
  3. Have a good friend call him up or set up a boys night at home etc..
  4. Get him a devotional, daily bread or download the bible app on his phone or let him listen to the word.
There are many stories and examples in the word for you to learn from.  There are good ones and not so good ones with variable results.  God has them as lessons and admonition.  1 Corinthians 10:11(KJV)
Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come

Remember, to pray that God will give your husband strength according to His riches in glory and by His Spirit in the inner man.  Pray that he would pattern his life after Christ. Know that your encouragement and your prayers will truly make a difference as the nurturer and help meet God has blessed him with and put into his life.  Here's a link to encourage you while you pray today. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wflVKiA3_BM - Pray on until you win the victory
