A CHOICE TO LEARN OR NOT TO LEARN
In Luke 10:38-42 and John 11,12 we see two different Martha's.One before she opened her heart and the other after her teachable heart was taught a few lessons.
Although she had some of her same characteristics, she was a little more tender because she had a new kind of intimacy with Jesus after she applied His corrections.
This time she left the guest inside and ran outside to meet Jesus.
What was different this time? Her faith in her master made the difference. It was because of this Jesus was able to reveal Himself to her as the Resurrection and the Life. She was able to respond also by saying, "I believe that you are the Christ, the son of God Who was to come into the world." John 11:27.
We can get a new heart like Martha once we make the choice to be teachable.
TODAY'S FOCUS: Do You Have Ears?
God still speaks today and will reveal Himself to us through our circumstances in our hearts, by His Spirit or through the word and scriptures. But...Are you willing to "shema" (hear)?
Are you conveniently letting God's voice be drowned out by your daily busyness?
Are you deliberately refusing to listen?
Are you afraid to face what He has to say?
Regardless of your answers or reason, if you refuse to listen to the Lord you shut Him out. You are telling Him you don't want to shema.
Today we ask....
- Have you been willing to listen to God by taking time out to hear His voice?
- How does God speak to you?
- Has God spoken to you about something in your life?
- How have you responded to His disciplines?
I pray today that you will make it a matter of interest to frequently listen to His voice even when you pray you must stop and listen to what He has to say.
It is a good practice to do it at the start of the day. Listen to His instructions and directives for the day. Listen to His urging and nudging throughout the day, and listen to His message at the end of your day.
HE THAT HAVE EARS TO HEAR LET HIM HEAR!
God Bless and remember to ...... KEEP THE FAITH!
Virtuous Jewel
