RECEIVING REBUKE

 LEVELS OF DISCIPLINES

Proverbs 3:12 tell us whom the Lord loveth, he rebukes and chastens even as a father does to the child he delights in.

Isn't it nice to know that it is because we are sons and not bastards God takes the time to discipline us?
The question is are we teachable to receive the disciplines?

In our studies Martha was rebuked but she accepted the disciplines because she was teachable.
We see the results on Jesus second visit to their hometown after the death of Lazarus.

No discipline is pleasant at the time it is being applied.  It is sometimes painful, but afterwards it produces great rewards and harvest of righteousness and change to those who have accepted it.

A person who is teachable also looks and anticipates chastening.... Wow!
We reflect on the story of little Josh who when ask the question by his dad, "Josh do you need a spanking?"
To which Josh replied, "yes, daddy, I do."  The dad pulled over and Josh got his spanking. Josh embraced his spanking.

TODAY'S FOCUS:  CAN WE EMBRACE OUR DISCIPLINE?

Psalm 94:12-13 KJV states.. "Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law; that thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

A HOLY MAKEOVER
There's no doubt that disciplines brings change and gives us a "makeover".

DO YOU HAVE A TEACHABLE HEART?  Le'ts talk....
Think about the disciplines you have had in the past, whether from a parent, teacher, other adult, or from the Lord and express what result you have gained or benefit as a result of it...
For example... Joanna stated that she would not steal because of her mother marching her to return something she took from a store, she wouldn't curse because of her ivory soap experience.. What's yours?
What discipline has made you better from your teachable heart?

As you let go, let God make you over and commit to be transformed so the jewels of the fires of the process can come through and bless.

May you have a teachable day by laying down you - and let God make it all new and transform you into.... A brand new man!

GOD BLESS - Keep the faith!

Virtuous Jewel
