THE REASON BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

SPARED FROM PAIN

Many people don't  look at disappointment as a blessing. Most likely one would think things to the contrary and become discouraged.  Sometimes it may seem that it occurs regularly, and other times it may come around in circles.  It may even cause you to doubt the promises and or presence of God in your life.

Come Away My Beloved- Daily Devotion, by Frances J. Roberts, states, "whenever a wrong door is closed, it is by My hand as much as when a right one opens. In this way I not only bring you joy but spare you pain.

God not only wants to give you joy when doors are opened, but He also wants you celebrate when they are closed.  Stop trying to pry open doors that are being closed. They are closed for your protection and to spare your life.

God is in control of your life and wants to spare you from pain.  He does not want to withhold any good thing from you.  He wants you to trust Him and to believe that at the right time, he will open the right doors for you.

Perhaps it's that job opportunity or promotion that you didn't get, the deal that fell through, or perhaps that relationship that didn't last that happened to spare you from future pain or distress.  What ever the reason, know that God wants to protect you from harm.

TODAY'S FOCUS:  DOORS ARE CLOSED FOR YOUR PROTECTION

Doors are not always closed in front of you but also behind you. Sometimes God will shut you in the inside for your protection.  In Genesis He closed the door without Noah and his family to protect them from the flood.  If Noah attempted to open it to see what was happening on the outside, he would perish with all his family and the animals.

Closed doors are also necessary to guard your valuables and life.  When you leave your home in the day time you would close and lock your doors. At night time you would ensure that the doors and security measures are in place before you turn in so the likelihood of an intruder is not made easy.

Whatever the reason for a closed door, it is for your good.  As you think of this topic today think of, in what ways door have been closed before or behind you. Think of the reasons why you can't go back or pursue. Think of what would be your fate if you opened a door that was closed by God.  In many of these instances, you will be celebrating and thanking God when you see the results of those who went back and retrieve or pursued those same doors.  Lastly think on the new doors that have opened because you were available and accepted the closed ones.

Remember, don't let your curiosity get the best of you.  Don't neglect to shut the doors to your own protection.  God has a purpose and a plan when he closes and sometimes slam doors shut.  It is God's hand that both opens and closes your doors.   Trust that He will open only the right doors in His time not yours.

God Bless you and Keep the Faith!

  1. Oh wow! Another powerful word. This is where trust must be a major factor in being okay with the closed doors, because I really have to trust and depend on God that knows all things. I have to believe and accept that He will never harm me, but know He only wants the best for me. Keep writing, Pastor Rhymer! God is faithful to His promise to you.
