THE UNJUST JUDGE
The story in Luke Chapter 18 reveals a widow woman who wanted justice from the judge. This widow would not take no for an answer, but went day in and day out to the judge to be avenged of her adversary. For a while the judge would not give her the time of the day, but afterward he had a thought. Even though he did not fear God or regard man, he didn't want her to keep coming back so he decided to avenge her.
This got the Lord's attention in verses 6 and 7 and concluded the parable with these words.
Luke 18:6-7 (KJV)
And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
TODAY'S FOCUS: HE WILL AVENGE HIS ELECT
You are God's elect, and you are important to God. Not like the unjust judge who will do it so you don't bother him anymore, but like a father who is concerned and wants to meet the needs of His children. Even if takes a while, you must be persistent and have faith. The wait at times can be long, but are you persistent enough with your prayer or do you give up on the first few days?
Many are intimidated when they are denied and will not make another attempt to obtain something that they really need. Do you just take no for an answer, or do you go at it try again until your succeed? There are many accounts in the bible where persistent and consistent actions paid off. The widow woman understood the importance of trying until she got through. Jacob also continued fighting until he got the victory. The woman with the issue of blood also understood the concept of pressing through. You too despite the voices and negative replies, should be persistent until your receive the answer to your prayers.
Remember, God avenges His elect. There is no question that God hears the cry of a persistent and consistent plea. He is asking that you pray and not faint. He's asking you to believe that He is more than able even as the unjust would avenge those who consistently come before them. Trust that He will avenge you and be persistent.
God Bless you and Keep the Faith!
