ATTENTION PLEASE

UNDIVIDED ATTENTION

In the busyness of life people tend not to pay close attention to important things and detail.  The phrase, "pay attention" is used by parents to their children, teachers to their students,

God is calling you to give Him your undivided attention.  When someone asks for your undivided attention, it calls for you to stop whatever you are doing and focus on what they are saying or doing.

Many mistakes are made by not listening or being preoccupied which can cause many catastrophic and or fatal demise.  We can think of many incidents such as:
The pilot that did not heed the warning to move off course
The prescription not taken as instructed
The youth that did not heed wise advice
The business partner deal that was not thoroughly investigated......

The children of Israel suffered many perils because of disobedient and undivided attention when they gave their attention to other ideoloies and gods beside the God of heaven.

Perhaps you can give several other examples from scripture or otherwise.  Most likely you may have you own personal testimonies and experiences that you can relate to or share.  You are not paying attention if your mind and heart is not in the present task or conversation.

TODAY'S FOCUS:  COMMANDED TO ATTENTION

At the singing of the national anthem or reciting of the pledge of allegiance the audience is commanded to stand and give attention with solemnity.  That moment allows them to give their undivided attention to their country and cause.

God commands that type of attention from you.  It not only benefits you but also  for the good of your children.

Jeremiah 32:39 (KJV)
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

This scripture holds much truth today as many are suffering the consequences of actions done by parents or predecessors and not by their own faults or doings.  It stems from bad money managements, relationships and other bad decisions from the lack of paying attention.

It is important to give your undivided attention to show respect and avoid misunderstandings.  It will also save time and allow you opportunities to enjoy other activities and or pursue other interest.  Most importantly it will allow you to hear the distinctive voice of God and walk in His will.

Many people and things compete for your attention.  Take a personal evaluation and examine whether you are single-hearted and your attention to God and the essentials of life are undivided.   Avoid distractions whether they are people, electronics, other gadgets and negative thinking.  Keep your eye clear so your body can be full of light to see your way clearly, and serve the Lord with sincerity of heart.

Remember, God is commanding you to attention.  Stay focus and sober always. Allow your eye and heart to be single to the person or task at hand.  Avoid the penalties that result from the lack thereof.  Know that God commands your attention for your good and that of your children.  Pay attention so your minds will not be led astray by the enemy from the simplicity and purity of your devotion to Christ.

God Bles you and Keep the Faith!
