UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY

DON'T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A BLESSING!

Many miss opportunities to be blessed because they expect it only from a good source.. (God, family, friends, neighbors or other places of comfort and familiarity)

Here's one that's may not be so popular or thought of....
Romans 12:20 (KJV)
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Really? Yup! Loving your enemies is a unique opportunity for a blessing!

TODAY'S TOPIC:  RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR ENEMIES

It is easy to build a relationship with those who we love or those who love us.  It may be because it is so easier to approach them or we are more comfortable with them.

Let's look at some scriptural ways to fulfill Romans 12: 20

  1. Bless those who curse you
  2. Pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you
  3. Forgive those who have wronged you
  4. Release those who have inflicted you
  5. List some other things you can do and list some ways you can perform them

We are commanded in Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Remember, your enemies also need saving.  Building a relationship on love with them as Christ loved you while you were enemies with Him. In so doing you will be able to help them see Christ through your loving actions.

Go and do like wise - Look out for your breakthrough and blessings!

Keep the Faith!

THOUGHTFUL PHILOSOPHY

DO FOR DO

Matthew 7:12 (KJV)
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets

This scripture have often been used when feelings are hurt  by someone else or even at times when wishing for evil happenings to others. It's a "Do for Do" philosophy.  For example when we have asked for help or been wronged we would perhaps say, "they will need my help one day".  "they will get old one day too" or "they will get paid back" etc..  and when something happens to that individual they will respond by quoting the scripture.

TODAY'S TOPIC:  VIEW FROM ANOTHER ANGLE

When the scripture is viewed from another angle it will call for a different approach.  Let's look at the TLB version....

“Do for others what you want them to do for you."

Are you going....... Hmmnnn???

I hope you are.  That version certainly calls for a new look at our relationship with others.  Not just our immediate family and friends but our relationship with our community and our world.

It calls for an approach that makes you act out your expectation of others.

Are you ready to do what you want others to do for you or are you going to continue to sit back and wait for something to be done to someone who has hurt or wronged you?  Let's talk...

  • Think about something you desire to be done to you and do it for someone else.
    • Waiting for someone to visit you? Visit someone
    • Waiting for someone to call you?  Call them
    • Want someone to help you with a chore? How about doing something for someone.
    • Other desires? - Do it for Others
  • Think about a group or community outreach that need your help, join or volunteer to assist with some of their services
    • An orphanage or children's home
    • A non-profit group or organization
    • A homeless shelter
    • School
    • Nursing Home or Hospital (outpatient etc)
    • Your own community or area
    • Can you think of any other?

Much can be said about the subject.  But today, this thoughtful philosophy when applied with the true meaning of scripture and viewed from a different angle will be approached with the attitude to...

DO FOR OTHERS AS YOU EXPECT THEM TO DO FOR YOU!

Remember, don't point the finger in the reverse expecting bad for wrong done, but, it's "WHATEVER" that you want men to do to you, that is what you must do to and for them.  Make the first move and keep that philosophy that everything you do is an expectation of what you expect from others.  Be more considerate, more loving, more forgiving, more merciful, more giving..... Life is sowing and reaping - You shall reap what you sow!
Sow seeds of kindness, give and it shall be given unto you.  Build relationships and serve your world and community.

Keep the Faith!

HONOR ONE ANOTHER

WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?

When this question was asked, Jesus gave his answer in a parable.  (Luke 10: 25-37)

That remarkable story reflects the answer and one of the great commandments in Mark 12: 31 to "Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself"

Are you praying for and really truly genuinely sincerely love your neighbor or or are you judging, criticizing, complaining about, discussing, competing with, gossiping about or even hurting them?

ONE CANNOT LOVE AND CAUSE HARM

Ephesians 4:2-3 (KJV)
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Love will bring about the most needed ingredient in any relationship - PEACE!

TODAY'S TOPIC:  BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS

It begins with love and builds on some of the following words extracted from the above scripture.
  • Lowliness
  • Meekness
  • Longsuffering
  • Forbearing
  • Unity
  • Bond
As you reflect on the above, write down the messages that come to mind or what speaks to you through those words.  Is there a testimony or an experience? Please share!

This next scripture may challenge many, but the lack of its application could certainly be the basis of the strife we have with many friends and neighbors relationship today.

Romans 12:10 (KJV)
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Let's Discuss:

  • What is brotherly love?
  • List 7 ways you can demonstrate "Kind affection" to your neighbor?
  • How can you prefer and honor your friend and neighbor? (write a short essay)
Remember, to love the Lord with your all and your neighbor as yourself is the foundation where all the other commandments hang.  This means no relationship can be solidified or established without love.  Love heals, love mends and love keeps. So, today, build good relationships with your friends and neighbors and fulfill the law of Christ.  Galatians 6: 2

TAKE DELIGHT IN HONORING YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!

SISTERS IN WAITING

LADY, WHY ARE YOU WAITING?

Let's count the years....... 1, 2, 3.....10, 11.....15.....20............  A LIFETIME?
Do you find yourself somewhere in between here waiting?
Waiting for the right month, year, age or ......?

Are you asking or rehearsing this question?
If I am good enough to cook for you, wash for you, clean for you, sleep with you, have children with you, live with you, AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU TO MARRY ME?

It's been years and still no ring, no commitment, but yet you have extend and continue to extend all the courtesies and functions as a wife but still in waiting.

My Sisters are you allowing the saying...
Why buy the whole cow when you could get the milk for free become a reality to your life?

Listen........ Shhhhh..... It's time to understand WHO YOU ARE!
Your "milk" is precious and priceless - GUARD IT AS YOUR TREASURE!

Know your worth, value your worth, understand your worth and RESPECT YOUR WORTH!

Please don't jeopardize your "Spiritual Investment" (eternal future)
Ephesians 5:5 (KJV)
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

TODAY'S TOPIC:  MARRIAGE IS A REAL GOOD INVESTMENT

What do you think of the old adage, "why buy the cow when you could get the milk for free?"
  1. What's your interpretation to the saying?
  2. Can you give another analogy?
  3. In what way are you in a situation of that adage?  (marriage or otherwise)
There are many analogies one can give to that statement.  And while there is a lot of negativity surrounding marriage it is still God's best design and plan for you.
Here's my thought.....

M - Marriage
I   - Investment
- Love
K- Knowledge

Marriage is an investment of love and gives knowledge!  It is God's gift to Adam and Eve to enjoy each other and to replenish the earth.  Outside of that is to be outside of God's will and covering.

  • Don't be faithless - Malachi 2: 14-16
  • Don't let anyone despise your youth - 1 Timothy 4: 12
  • Don't let the works of the flesh control your life - Galatians 5:19
  • Don't jeopardize your eternal future - Ephesians 5: 5

But.... Give God your spiritual worship - Your Body
Romans 12:1 (KJV)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Remember, Ladies and Sisters (and men too) do not deprive yourself of a great future and benefits that comes with a loving and legal God designed relationship; spend time in prayer and reading of the word; avoid careless and lustful impulses.
Make a choice and let this be your motto.......
NO DEPOSIT - NO WITHDRAWALS!

BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT

THE COMFORTER

John 14:26 (KJV)
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Have you ever wanted to remember a scripture and come up with a blank?  Then all of a sudden The Holy Spirit brings it to you not just the word but the scripture verse and or lead you right to it.

That's the promise of God!

TODAY'S TOPIC:  BE FILLED

There are many scriptures that tells us what the spirit is to us and the role it plays in our lives?
  1. List five (5)
  2. List roles and functions
  • Share an experience that proves the evidence of the Holy Spirit in a particular situation
  • Sing a song about The Holy Spirit
Let David's prayer be yours today.
Psalm 51:11 (KJV)
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Remember The Holy Spirit is God's promise to you as your guide and comforter.  It bears witness with your spirit, communicates with you on spiritual things, intercedes for you and groans on your behalf and is sent by the Father to teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance.

WATCH YOUR EGO

IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU

By definition the word "ego" means....
a person's sense of self esteem or self importance....

Today there is a far cry for many who are suffering with a lack of self-esteem and self worth.  There are many books, workshops and seminars to help others develop, maintain or discover themselves.

HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH?  Note the key word is a person's sense of... and let's look to the scriptures....

Romans 11:33-36 (KJV)
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

The trouble begins when we feel that God owes us something for everything we do.  We take His glory, we begin to feel He owes us for our wisdom, intelligence, self-importance etc...

TODAY'S TOPIC:  CHECK IN WITH YOUR EGO

Can you imagine some people think they can give God advice?  Really? That calls for a hearty laugh - LOL!!!

As you reflect back on the scripture above, there are two questions to think and ponder about:
  1. Who hath known the mind of the Lord?
  2. Who hath been His counselor?
Let's go deeper....
  • Can you give a couple of examples of individuals in the bible that tried the ego thing with God?  Who and what were the results?
  • Do you know of anyone who may need to check their ego with this scripture?
How about going a little deeper....
  • What about your own personal ego? Yes Yours!!!
    • When last you checked it in regards to the word above?
    • How guilty are you?
    • How does your ego and attitude speak to the gifts and things God has given you?
    • Are you beating your chest and saying, it's by my wisdom and power I have acquired and done this or that?
    • Do you feel God owes you anything for what you have done?
    • How about when you pray? Is your ego showing off or are you really and truly appreciating and understanding that all things are of Him, through Him and in Him?
CHECK YOUR SENSE OF IMPORTANCE AND MAKE SURE IT IS GOD ALONE WHO IS GETTING THE GLORY!

Remember, God owes you nothing for anything your do.  His judgments are unsearchable and His ways past finding out.  If self-importance is dominant when you speak, pray or act check your ego in with the word and humble yourself under the mighty hand of God.  Know that it's in Him you live, breathe and have your being.  He is the great counselor and all the glory must go to Him and Him alone!

TO GOD BE ALL PRAISE, HONOR, POWER AND GLORY FOREVER AMEN!

GUARD YOUR DEPOSIT

FAULT-LINES

There are many core issues that you deal with that may not fall within the "big sin" category as some would say, but every unholy and unrighteous flaw can hinder your connection with your heavenly Father and can cause fatalities.

"Be aware of the weak places in your souls."

Read Psalms 139 and take a spiritual polygraph, confess what is being revealed to you as your Fault-lines and bring freedom to your souls.

TODAY'S TOPIC:  PRAYER TEMPLATE FOR FAULT-LINES

Psalm 19:12-13 (KJV)
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
  • Make a list of what God reveals to you
  • Pray out the sins that you are aware of
  • Ask God to reveal those that you are innocent about
Use this template daily and guard your deposit with the help of the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 1:14 (KJV)
That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

Remember, if Fault-Lines are left unattended the devil will have access to your souls. Continue to ask the Lord to search every corner of your heart and as the Spirit patrols you to a holy awareness of each fault-line you will use sober judgement.

GOD BLESS AND KEEP THE FAITH!

GOD'S TECHNOLOGY

X-RAY VISION

Can your secret be exposed today without bringing embarrassment or shame?

Nothing escapes God's X-ray Vision.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 (KJV)
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Luke 8:17 (KJV)
For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

TODAY'S TOPIC: CHANNELS DISPLAY

As you think on the scriptures and knowing that nothing escapes God's technology and ex-ray vision let's discuss:
  • What's on the channel of your heart now?
  • What's on the channel of your mind now?
  • What would you be guilty or ashamed of if you were exposed through God's technology?
  • Would you want the channel changed or would you allow others to sit down and enjoy a good Christ controlled movie ? (Explain your answer)
Remember, because every work, deed and secret thing will be brought into judgement, watch your words, actions and thoughts.  Change to the frequency of heaven and allow God to have the control.

YOUR STEPS ARE ORDERED

WALKING WITH THE LORD

You are protected when you walk with The Lord and allow Him to order your steps daily.

Psalm 37:23-24(KJV)The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Even though your faith may be challenged by the difficulties of life reflecting on this scripture will always encourage you when you know that steps are ordered by The Lord.
  • Your way will be delightful
  • When you fall you will not be utterly cast down
  • The Lord Himself upholds you with His hand

TODAY'S TOPIC:  COMMIT YOUR DAY TO THE LORD

Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)
Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
  • What are your plans?
  • Are they in line with God's word and will?
Here are some suggestions to help you from my daily devotion (At the Feet of Jesus by Joanna Weaver)...
  1. Invite Jesus to rule and reign
    • Each morning when you get up turn over your plans to The Lord and present your day to Him
  2. Ask God to reveal the next step
    • As you go through the day ask the Lord to help you and what you should do next. Take each task step by step and flow as He reveals it to you.
  3. Have faith that what needs to get done will get done
    • Since you have committed your day to Him trust Him that whatever is to be done will be done and any unfinished task will be done in His time.
  4. Be Open to the leading of the Holy Spirit
    • Embrace interruptions to your plans as "Divine Appointments".  Instead of being overwhelmed and anxious flow with what God is doing, and surrender your agenda to His leading.
Remember, God knows best.  Don't let the big picture overwhelm you or discourage you. Release yourself in total trust that your steps are being ordered, and that he delights in every step you take.  Ask Him to give you the wisdom and insight as you make your plans that they will be in accordance with His will,  You will then enjoy the freedom of total surrender as you commit your day and walk with Him daily.

God Bless and Keep the Faith!

THE CURE FOR I-DISEASE

I-DISEASE

I-Disease results when you selfishly and constantly (even unintentionally) say and use "I".  So if you prayer and other conversation is.... I want, I must have, I need,
Yup - YOU GOT IT!

Question:  If you suffer with I-Disease what can you do about it?
Answer = Use us, our, we, they, them...

The Lord wants us to think of others not just ourselves.

The design of the Lord's prayer shows Jesus intended to allow us to let go to I and give way to us, we and our.  Read Matthew 6: 9-13

TODAY'S TOPIC:  USING THE CURE

Our vision must expand beyond ourselves.  As you reflect on the Lord's prayer let's do an exercise.  Using the prayer points below let's pray a prayer extending beyond ourselves.  You can do one or two or all.  (I have done the first one as an example - you can be more specific and detailed)
  • Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
    • Our Father who art in heaven thank you for your will to prosper us (list some people, ministry, coworkers, etc...) and heal us.  I pray that Your will to make us the head and not the tail be extended to our families, friends and others whom we associate with.  Let us live in peace and oneness as you and Jesus are one..... in Jesus Name we pray, Amen and Amen
  • Give us this day our daily bread
  • Forgive us our debts
  • Lead us not into temptation
  • Deliver us from all evil
Today, let's follow the command of scripture to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Remember, as you focus on establishing the principles of curing the I-Disease, know that Jesus was and is the greatest teacher.  Follow His example and design for prayer.  Our Father and give us our daily bread.  Others were always on His mind and in His prayer.

God Bless and Keep the Faith!

SILENT LOVE

GOD'S APPROVAL IN HIS SILENCE

Today's daily devotion, (At the Feet of Jesus), speaks volumes to all those who feel that God answers with silence.

God's silence does not mean he is distant or unhappy about you.  He may be up to something for you.  He's is watching over you to see if He can trust you in His silence - Imagine He sings over you...WOW!

GOD REJOICES OVER YOU! Zephaniah 3:17(KJV)
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

TODAY'S TOPIC:  WAITING - A SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE

Waiting is a Spiritual Discipline.  It is hard to be quiet when God is quiet.  We become restless and begin to murmur and complain.  But when God is quiet it's a good time to learn the discipline of waiting and trust in God.

"The very act of waiting, in fact, may help us tune in to His voice better than any other spiritual discipline."

Have you had to wait on God for any length of time?(Share the experience)
  • What did you learn from that experience?
  • Were you restless or patient? (why)
  • What purpose or blessing came as a result?
  • How do you feel now that He has broken the silence?
  • What character was developed from the experience?
  • If you are experiencing God's silence at this present time?
    • Are your ears open to His frequency?
    • What are you occupied with? (Is there noise, chatter or clutter?)
Remember, when God is silent that does not mean he doesn't love you or neglects you.  He wants you to be still and focused on Him so you can tune your ears to His frequency as He speaks to you in the silence of His love.  You may just hear Him singing over you, rejoicing over you. Saying.... Here's my daughter, here's my son - I can trust them even with my silence! Hallelujah!

God Bless You and always..... KEEP THE FAITH!
