HUMAN EXPERIENCES

God Still Governs Human Experiences

  1. This morning I woke up to the hymn, I Need Thee Every Hour in my spirit....
  2. As you reflect on the hymn the verses reflects human experiences, but God has a word for every experience.

  3. Look up the scriptures applicable to your situation of need in each verse below:

  4. I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
    No tender voice like Thine can peace afford. (Peace - Isaiah 26:3)
    • Refrain:
      I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
      Every hour I need Thee;
      Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
      I come to Thee.
  5. I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
    Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh. (Temptation - 1 Cor 10:13)
  6. I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
    Come quickly and abide, or life is vain. (Pain - Psalms 103:3)
  7. I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
    And Thy rich promises in me fulfill. (God's Will - Romans 12:2)
  8. I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
    Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son. (Thine Indeed - Isaiah 43:1)
  9. Keep singing and call on Him for He will come when you call.

  1. TODAY'S FOCUS:  TEMPTATION LOSE THEIR POWER
  2. Today many people are challenged with many temptations that overwhelm them. Some are addicted and cannot seem to get the victory.  But...THERE IS HOPE!
  3. Faced with temptations?  Take a look at the verse below. The Phillips version expresses it very simply and states that God can be trusted and will not allow you to be tempted beyond your powers of endurance.  (read the various versions)

1 Corinthians 10: 13 (PHILLIPS)
No temptation has come your way that is too hard for flesh and blood to bear. But God can be trusted not to allow you to suffer any temptation beyond your powers of endurance. He will see to it that every temptation has a way out, so that it will never be impossible for you to bear it.

As you read and digest the above let's discuss:

  • Are you experiencing temptations and or bound to any addictions?
  • What are your reasons or excuses for not being victorious? (Who do you blame?)
  • Do you see a way out?  (What routes of escape are available?)
Ask yourself.... Can I trust God to help me and take the escape he has made?

One may say, I can't resist the temptation or I can't say no.  Some may even use scriptures like what the Apostle Paul wrote of in the following scripture to justify their actions.

Romans 7: 19,21

For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

They may even point out others in the bible who were tempted like David and others, but one must take accountability and acknowledge what Paul himself acknowledge in verse 20 - Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me; and what David also acknowledged in Psalm 51:3 - For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

Know that there is a cure in 1 John 1:9 (KJV)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousnes

Remember, God still governs the human experience.  You must believe that there is no temptation that you cannot overcome, because God has already promised you a way out. Will you trust Him to help you escape today? You can resist with the word and prayer.  Acknowledge and confess your areas of weakness, and believe that you are cleansed from all unrighteousness.  With Him in your life you can walk in righteousness and victory every day.

God Bless you and Keep the Faith!
