ZOMBIE-LIKE EXISTENCE
Does the above describe you?
Today's devotion states that we are living resurrected but still overwhelmed by fears, anxiety and our own turmoils and stress. We go through the motions of existence but are not existing in the power and authority of our resurrected Lord.
What Can be Done?
TODAY'S FOCUS: PRACTICE RESURRECTION
- Put to death the things of your earthly nature
- Deny yourself
- Take up your cross
- Follow Christ
List things that must be put to death from the points above as you reflect on the following scripture.
Colossians 3:5-10
King James Version (KJV)
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Remember,
- "Until we put to death whatever belongs to our earthly nature, we will never be able to emerge from our tombs and actually "practice resurrection." (Lazarus Awakening)
- Allow the cross to have its way in you
- Follow Christ

Virtuous Jewel
One of the things I must put to death is anxiety and fear that sometimes creep in when I am faced with big tasks, losses or the things that I am endeavoring. They are not the typical worry but the ones that seem to appear out of no where manifesting itself in bodily sensations and feelings. I have to fight with the word and shield of faith.
ReplyDeleteDeny Yourself - Sometimes it it necessary to make some self sacrifice by giving up comforts and extra and most often un-necessary things, such as natural habits, excessive social media and internet browsing (even for good things) which keeps me from doing important things.
Take up My cross- Avoid distractions which come in various forms. Don't take on other people's crosses, rocks, burdens and work loads. Accepting some things as His perfect will and working for my good even if it does not appear good at the moment.
Follow Christ - My Challenge is staying focus on what He called me to do and not be concerned on what others say or feel God wants me to do. While appreciating advice, I must follow the voice and leading of God and His Holy Spirit.
Yes, sometimes I get those Elijah moments but I must remember, it's according to the power that lies within me. Glory To God - HALLELUJAH!
