DISTRACTORS AND DISTRACTIONS

BE HONEST WITH YOU

This morning the Lord reminded me of the things we put before Him or allowing to come between our worship and time spent in His presence.

THANK GOD for the book, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. I am now more conscious and learned so much.  I Strongly recommend a copy to everyone!

Can I ask my friends and family to be HONEST with me today?
When you wake up in middle of the night or in the morning what grabs your attention or calls to your spirit first?

TODAY'S FOCUS:

There are so many things that distracts us when we should be spending time with God.  Here are a few (you can add others as it applies).

The Cell phone - messages/email etc.
Facebook messages
Telephone call to someone
Food
Your favorite TV Show
Video games
The clock
Spouse or children
The News
Housework
School work
unfinished assignments
upcoming events
Other....

WHAT ARE YOUR SUGGESTIONS OR BEST PRACTICES?

Let's discuss how can we avoid some of these distractions upon waking up in the morning or when it's our worship time.

Pray today....
Lord help me to stay focus and avoid every distractor and distractions in Jesus name.

God Bless you, and remember to keep the faith!

  1. Here are some Suggestions/Best Practices that I have found to be of great help...
Make your prayer be the last thing you do as you doze off to sleep, even if you have said your evening prayer have a talk with the Lord.
Read or focus on a scripture even if its difficult. (use your phone or a c/d to play the scripture to you)
Let worship music (timed) drift off to sleep
When you wake up and can't sleep - do the same thing above, pray, meditate or play a song.
    THINGS TO AVOID:
Avoid having to retrieve your phone, remote control upon waking up by putting it away from you that you would have to actually get up to get it giving you time to talk to God.
Have a bottle or a glass of water at your bedside to avoid the urge of eating.
Whatever you do keep you focus and avoid distractors/distraction in any form.
