DON'T EAT OR SWALLOW

THROWING UP

The dictionary meaning states that vomit is - eject matter from the stomach through the mouth, puke, spew, throw up....  In any case it is stuff that is not palatable and would not likely be swallowed back.

When someone vomits or throws up, they bring up stuff that has affected their stomach- It could be anything from bad/stale food, stuff they have an allergic reaction to or just stuff that was not processed and was being held in the stomach.

When you vomit, the food is not the same as when you ate it.  It is used, chewed and process and would not smell right or look appealing.
Gossip is like vomit.  People can't hold it in and wants to throw it out because it is in their stomach.  Just as you would not let someone vomit on you.  Don't let them gossip to you.

Like food, the information that is being gossiped about in most cases has been changed from the original message.  Since it has been in the stomach for a while, there is a possibility that it got other thoughts with it, and is no longer pure.

You must refuse gossip like you would vomit because it can cause a stink smell to follow you.  It can cause you fear, think bad thoughts about someone and or even bring a curse.

TODAY'S FOCUS: REFUSE IT

You must refuse to be the dumping ground for vomit of gossip or curse.
It can have an effect on you. What comes out of the mouth is from the heart and it defiles:

Matthew 15:18-19The Message (MSG)
Jesus replied, “You, too? Are you being willfully stupid? Don’t you know that anything that is swallowed works its way through the intestines and is finally defecated? But what comes out of the mouth gets its start in the heart. It’s from the heart that we vomit up evil arguments, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, and cussing. That’s what pollutes.

If what comes out of a person defiles then you should refuse it. Refuse to entertain it. Refuse to swallow it or let it contaminate you.  That also includes curses.

VOMIT= GOSSIP/CURSE
Don't eat food from other people's mouths!
Don't let them vomit their gossip or curses to you! SAY YUUCCKK!!

If someone opens their mouth to put a curse on you don't receive it. It's like vomit.  It can be something that they have nurtured from envy, jealousy, malice and or wickedness.  These have roots that are deep and are now regurgitated to contaminate you.

Vomit can also be contagious and maybe as a result of a virus.  A virus is an infective agent that can cause infection and is able to multiply.  A virus is also copying itself and has a detrimental effect which can corrupt and destroy data.

Like a virus a curse vomited out over you can be detrimental if you receive it.  It can and will destroy your data- the knowledge that you have about yourself from the word.  It will also affect your thinking and can leave permanent scars if not treated immediately with antibiotics.

Remember, gossip is unhealthy food from other people's heart and spoken through the mouth.  It has been processed and held in the stomach to be dumped out.  A person who wants to vomit gossip looks for people to spew their gossip on. Curses are also vomit that must be refused. Don't let them vomit their gossip or curse on you.  It can become a viral infection or corrupted code duplicating its way into your bloodline and family.  Fight it with the antibiotic of the word, prayer and fasting. Refuse it- Say YUCK!

God Bless you and Keep the Faith!

SUMMER AWAKENING #2 - READING CONNECTION

BOOK SENSE

It is said many children today do not read at their grade levels. Even high school and college students are not able to write a quality essay.  Many will not pick up a book unless they are in school or have an assignment.

Reading has been replaced with gadgets, games and other electronic devices.  This causes children to become dull in their thinking and comprehension.

Summertime is a good time for reading and reflecting.  It is a good time to catch up on reading unfinished books, visiting the library and sharpening your reading skills.

Reading can open you up to fresh ideas of writing.  Children should be encouraged to read books outside of their school books. This would help them to develop and sharpen their reading abilities.

This summer, give your children an opportunity to enhance and or improve their reading:

Consider membership at the local library or bookmobile

Take your children to the bookstore or thrift store for a book of interest.
Make reading fun and engage in reading as a family.

TODAY'S FOCUS: CONNECTION THROUGH READING

Where's the Book Activity:

This summer get a book of interest and read as a family.  Depending on your family size, you can either get everyone their personal copy or get a book that you can read as a family in the evening.  You can assign a chapter to a family member who will be responsible to relate and summarize the chapter.  Be creative and have fun.  Here are some ideas- add your own:

Select a place that is comfortable and intimate (living room, backyard or porch...)
Journal your thoughts as you read
Highlight words, phrases, sentences or paragraphs that speak or jump out at you
Do daily briefing and offer encouragement
Pick a specific time/day of the week for family reflections of your book
Read to younger children or get a picture book and let them do call outs
Make a scrapbook or vision board from the book
Celebrate at the end of your book
Image result for family reading together

Make reading a Summer Awakening Goal- Which ever way you choose to connect through reading will not only help with reading, but it will help connect you with your family and create a bond that can continue even after the summer is over. So hurry and get your book today!

Remember, reading is fundamental to everything in life.  From basic reading of street signs and directions, filling an application for school or a job, completing an assignment or understanding instructions given.  Make it a habit to read with your family continually.  Make it a habit even when school is out.  Get them engaged in a daily devotion- Assign them portions of the devotions and or the word weekly.  This will build skills and strengthen the family.  Families that read together will grow together.

God Bless you and Keep the Faith!
